thegoodword.org is an outreach ministry presented by Fr. Doug Glassman. Its purpose is to provide the cyber-community, at home or work, the opportunity to resonate with a daily inspirational, motivational and spiritual reflection via the internet from Stella Maris Sanctuary. Stella Maris Sanctuary is a Hermitage setting for renewal, the study of spiritual journeys and social justice, high in the hills overlooking the ocean in Ventura County California.

Fr.
Doug was born in Boston, Massachusetts and entered the seminary at age
thirty-eight. He completed his Masters of Theology at the Jesuit School of
Theology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was ordained at the age of
forty-seven. His Pastoral Ministry includes, Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia,
Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and St. Johns Hospital Santa
Monica, California. He also ministered to St. Monica's parish community for over
eighteen years where his special interest was teaching scripture and
spirituality. Fr. Doug is the author of numerous audio CD and MP3 downloads
designed to make the study of Scripture and Theology more accessible.
